It’s necessary for health surveillance when there is clear indication, that an employee’s health could be at risk working within an environment. Examples of this include:
- Exposure to a substance that is linked/associated to a disease
- Potential to identify the disease or adverse change and reduce the risk
- Apperance of the disease happens due to changes in the working enviroment
Upon a health surveillance being completed, the employer then holds the responsibility of taking action to address anything deemed as a risk to an employee’s health. This could include further involvement from our occupational health services, in which we are more than happy to provide for.
